#2 Black Panther

The movie at the number 2 spot on my top ten favorite movies list is Black Panther. This movie is at the number 2 spot on my list because it’s my favorite Marvel movie yet. I say yet because I haven’t watched Black Panther 2 yet. I’m hoping that movie lives up to the expectations I have for it (I know it will). The first time I watched Black Panther was in middle school on a field trip to the movie theater. Ever since, I’ve probably watched the movie at least twice a year. Some people complain that the movie is too long, it’s 3 hours, but I think it’s perfect for the amazing plot and storyline of the movie.

T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King who of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

My favorite scene from the movie was the fight scene to be king between T’Challa and Killmonger. When T’Challa returns home, he’s challenged for the throne by Killmonger. These battles are part of their culture, so it’s allowed by everyone in the community whether they like it or not. These battles are to the death, and whoever is alive at the end wins the right to claim the throne to be King. The battle begins and the two are both striking with swords, T’challa has a shield and is more on the defensive side while Killmonger is being the aggressor and trying to take him off the map for good. Killmonger ends up stabbing T’Challa in his stomach, T’Challa falls and is getting beat up by Killmonger. Killmonger is ready to take the kill shot but is stopped by his uncle James. He ends up spearing him in his chest. T’Challa gets up and tries his best to fight Killmonger but is too weak. While he is beating T’Challa up, he asks “Is this your king” to the audience. He then picks him up over his shoulders and throws him over the cliff.
